This was my last wedding of 2017 but it's the wedding that had been in the works the longest, being booked long before all of my other 2017 weddings. For that reason, I found myself a bit sad when the night was over and we said goodbye. Even though my body was freezing from the Pacific ocean waters in Yachats, my heart was overflowing with warmth and love.
Becky and Lynda are two super cool women! I have no other way to say it. They're awesome! Lynda has the best laugh and Becky is so sweet. You can feel the love these two women have for each other when they enter a room. Magical! When we initially met, we talked for 90 minutes about anything and everything. Their Oregon wedding was originally scheduled to be a big event outside Eugene with tons of friends and family. Long story short, that idea was scrapped and their wedding turned into an intimate event along the Oregon coast. I can't imagine this wedding in any other way. My husband, Zach, officiated Becky & Lynda's wedding, as he did with so many of my 2017 weddings. We met them at their rental house in Yachats and I took photos of them getting ready together. It's always such and honor to document these intimate moments of a couple as they get ready for the biggest day of their lives. After getting ready, we took some private photos in the woods right off the side of the house. I love these images and they were a good way to relax and enjoy the day before the ceremony. The ceremony itself was a mile away, right above the rocks and waves by the Adobe Resort in Yachats, About a dozen friends and family gathered to watch Becky & Lynda say their personalized vows. There wasn't a dry eye on the beach and we even had a small audience of tourists watching the event, quietly, from the walkway and rocks. The most emotional part of the ceremony was when balloons were released to honor family members who had passed away. I still get a lump in my throat when I look at those photos. After their first kiss, and cheers from an audience on a hotel balcony, my husband and I took Becky and Lynda onto the rocks for more photos. I could have stayed there all day, watching the waves crash all around. So magical! Then, we went back to the rental house and the open sandy beach where we took photos until the sun went down. All of us ended up splashing in the cold Pacific ocean to get these photos and it was COLD! Wow! But so worth it. I'm in love with these images and the love these two ladies have for each other. I'm sad that this was my last wedding of the season but so very happy I was able to document this incredible love story. Congratulations, Becky & Lynda! -Lynn Marie
